I was born on July 17th, 1961 in Białystok. In 1984 I graduated from the Department of
Theatre Studies at The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw. In 1984 I took up studies at the Department of Puppetry Direction at The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw – branch in Białystok, from where I graduated in 1987. Between 1986 and 1989 I was employed in The Białystok Puppet Theatre as an assistant and afterwards as an independent director. There was also where I made my debut as an director of children’s shows “On Felix the Physician” and “Roll-a-Pea” to which screenplays I wrote by myself, and an adult performance “The Fox Hunt” by Sławomir Mrożek.
An actor. I have learned at the Department of Acting at The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw. I debuted in 1999 in the T. Łomnicki Wola Theatre in Warsaw in „Memoirs of a Time of Immaturity” by W. Gombrowicz. Since 1999 I have been cooperating with the Theatre and Foundation Wierszalin. During 2000-03 I was employed by the Theatre Banialuka in Bielsko-Biała, and in 2004 in the Baj Pomorski Theatre in Toruń. Since 2006 I have been an permanent actor of the Wierszalin Theatre in Supraśl.
My parents and grandparents and everybody I remember come from Białostocczyzna, and therefore so do I. I decided to become an actor (whatever it means). I went to Kraków to learn from masters. They allowed me to call myself an actor. I played in Kraków theatres: Stu, Kto and W. Siemaszkowskiej in Rzeszów, and finally came back to my roots, and here I am.
